ISU College Mini-Sessions || 7 Sweet Gals || Ames, IA Photographer

Sometimes, God surprises you with the best things ever. Isn't He such a wonderful Father like that?! Not even a week ago, I met Annette in a dining center on campus.  We started talking about our love for Turkey, Jesus, and our lives.  When I told her that I was a photographer, she mentioned she and a group of friends had been thinking of getting some photos taken.  Fast forward to Friday afternoon—the first gorgeous day after a week full of cold rain, and I was so blessed to have each of these gals in front of my camera!  It's no secret that each one is beautiful—inside and out—and is living out her life with joy.  I loved the chance to be behind the lens again, and to bless these gals with some photos that they'll hopefully treasure for the years to come!

Kelsey + Katie | Roommate Session | Iowa State Campus

Before I came to Iowa State, I'd heard stories and seen photos of a gal named Kelsey.  She lived up to my expectations (exceeded them, actually!) and over the course of time I was also introduced to her roommate and live-in-best-friend, Katie J.  These two girls are full of fire & fun!  If you need to laugh, cry, or to do both simultaneously—find these two and you'll be set.  For life.

Kelsey and Katie both love dancing, Jesus, people, laughter, and of course, they both share gorgeous copper locks!  Although it runs in my family, I wasn't gifted with the lovely red hair of my mother, grandmother, and cousins.  But I still believe that I have a little bit of ginger soul in me;) Which comes out even more when I'm around these gals! Haha.  Anyhow, to the point...these photos were taken on an unusually warm day in December around finals, when I needed to get out and shoot.

Nessa & Dani | Friends Forever Session

this is my first blog post in what seems like forever. it's been almost two weeks, which is close enough. my life has been extremely busy and doesn't seem like it'll be slowing down anytime soon, but i'm doing my best to slow it down some. i'll be limiting the sessions that i can take from here on out (for the rest of 2012) so that i can put forth my best effort to what i do take on! i think that i didn't realize that when they said, "this will be the semester that makes or breaks you!" they meant it. imagine that. ;) that all being said, meet my gorgeous friends! Nessa & Dani are two of the pack of girls that still always seem to get together over holidays and breaks from school. last month we snagged a few photos in the gorgeous weather. kinda fun stuff!

Team Uncontained | Portraits | Jacksonville, Fl

One of the things that I love about Jax STP is that you get to meet SO many new people! Sometimes life throws you a little treat, though, and you get to have one of your good friends from high school days come along too! Amelia M & I were friends in high school, but we've definitely gotten closer in the past two years, even with her being away in Ames for school. Partially because of Amelia, I've been able to get to know her team a little. These girls have some crazy fun together, let me tell you. They asked me to snap some photos of them before we all split up, and I couldn't have been more thrilled with how they turned out!

Kristine + Miranda | Friends Forever Session | Cedar Falls, IA Lifestyle Photographer

this is one of my absolute favorite sessions to date. (i may or may not say that every time...but it's always true!) the light was perfection, my models gorgeous, and the air full of laughter and smiles. even though it was the start of a summer of separation for the three of us, we were full of joy because each one of our summers will be full of growing in grace and the knowledge of God! Kristine & Miranda, thank you both for trusting me enough to get up before sunrise to take these photos! it was worth it, I'd say! :) can't wait to reunite with you both in August.

That goes for all y'all out there reading...I'm still booking senior, friends, family, and engagement sessions, not to mention weddings, so I can hit the ground running when I get home! Shoot me an email if you're interested:)

Edina & Samira | Friends Forever

Friends, I am so thankful for Edina. You see, almost 2 years ago now, I entered this very large and scary world called "COLLEGE." Never mind you that it was only at a community college 15 minutes away from home, or that I was only taking 12 credit hours that semester (how I wish I could change that now...) but I was nervous. Jittery, like the first day of high school, but worse because I wasn't going in with my entire junior high. This time, I was on my own, and I had no idea what to expect.
My first class was a Marketing class with one of my favorite professors to date, although I didn't know it that monday morning at 7:49 when I walked through the doors into the clean, small lecture room. I did notice over the next hour, however, that this class was mostly full of males. I think that there were about 5 girls in that class, total! So the next morning we had class, I made sure to snag a seat next to a very pretty girl who looked to be close to my age. We girls have to stick together, you know. ;) Well, that girl just happened to be Edina! And even after the class finished, I'd see her occasionally when I would run into my credit union to drop off a check or get some cash. It always makes my day to see a familiar face, I'll tell you! :) Needless to say, I was super excited when Edina facebooked me a few months back & wanted to set up some photos of her & her best friend! We went out early one morning last week and had soooooo much fun, laughing and walking around in the sunshine. Edina, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph you gals!
