Announcing…a WEBSITE for Amelia Renee Photography! | Cedar Falls & Ames, IA Photographer

I am so so so excited to be sharing this with you today! A website has been in my dreams and plans for a few years, but until the past few months, it wasn't able to be a reality. I'd written out ideas on scraps of papers during lectures and doodle pretend logos instead of doing homework—but there was no real way for me to get there. At least, not without shelling out the big bucks, and I wasn't at a point to do that.

I heard about squarespace a while back, and last semester I realized that I was eligible to get a student discount for my first year with the company. That got a few wheels turning! Over winter break, I was able to take time to sit down and start designing my website…after a an extended trial and an all-afternoon stint last weekend, I am so thrilled to share my new place with you!

But hey, when you build a new house, you give your friends a tour. So how about a tour of my new website—just for you?! :)

The first thing you should see is the front page—it's clean and bright, 

and has one of my favorite photos from a recent wedding on it!

My about page is twofold—and I love that about it! Visitors can read a little about who I am if they want, or scroll on down to the investment section. That describes my heart behind photography as an investment, and some pricing information. (Everyone's favorite section, right? ;)

Here we have the galleries—one for Love (weddings & engagements), and one for Portraits.

I might add another gallery for family photos down the road!

I finally have a contact page with a form that's easy and fun to fill out! You all have no idea how much I've been wanting one of these!!! Bonus, I created a painting last semester and have included it in a few of my headers because I feel that the colors and style sums up my vision for my brand.

I also have a blog section up, and plan to start using that soon! So, adios, sweet blogger blog. You've served me well for the past 3 years, but it's time for something new. 

It would be so much fun if you head over to my new website and check it out for yourself. :) My goal is that viewers and potential clients will feel like they know me, just from looking at those pages and reading through both this & my new blog.

Asia | Senior Session | Cedar Falls, IA Senior Photography

Asia is one of the most amazing high school seniors I know! Not only has she lived overseas for much of her life, but she has a huge heart for people and helping them. She loves to listen, encourage, and make people laugh. Asia also has the coolest name;) Her family is currently living in Thailand, but they came back for a few weeks this summer and I had the chance to meet up with her, have some good coffee at Sidecar in CF 
(sooo good!), and hang out in typical Iowa landscape-ness. 

On top of everything mentioned, Asia is incredibly artistic and talented! She looooves to doodle and create artwork, and definitely has the ability to go far with that! Whatever she does, she does well and with heart and love…something rare and to be treasured in today's society. 

Asia—thank you so much for allowing me to do your senior photos! It was so great to see you, and not long enough. Next summer will bring some art collaborations (I hope!) and many more memories!

Family Portraits | Hansen Family | Waverly, IA

'Tis the week before Christmas...and also the week of finals! Here at Iowa State, 23/7 quiet hours are in effect, hot chocolate & coffee is being drunk 'round the clock, and students are still putting off studying for that last final they have coming up this week. ;)

Since I'm possibly in that boat (just kidding, mom!), what better to do than post a sampling of the photos I captured over Thanksgiving break of the Hansen family?!  Katie is a photographer herself, and so it was definitely a sweet surprise when she emailed me & requested that I do photos of her family!  They were so much fun and I loved exploring Waverly (it's such a fun little town) while we were there.

adventuring. an exciting or very unusual experience.

maybe to you, an adventure is roadtripping across the country in a rickety old van with only your three best friends and $200 cash.

perhaps adventuring is riding your bike across town (highways! real roads! sore legs!).

it could be having a picnic, trying a new type of cuisine (pad thai...or maybe indian curry) in an authentic restaurant, skydiving, a first date, a drive-in movie, skinny dipping in the river at midnight, or a million other things.

summertime is the perfect time for adventures. i'm all about them! and i'd love to go with you. have an adventure or two, take some sweet photos to document it, and make a lot of great memories, too.

so what adventure are you planning next?

no amount of words can express how amazing this girl is. miranda is simply one of the most generous hearts i know, the kindest soul, and fun-loving, crazy-idea-comer-upper ever! she's the first one to instigate a dance party in the car and will be the first one to your door with your favorite drink & cupcakes when you need a shoulder to cry on. her heart for the broken and hurting, both in waterloo and the rest of the world [specifically africa!] is amazing. she loves people without abandon. you can see the love of Jesus in her eyes. i'm SO blessed to know her, and even more to call her my best friend. she'll go places--heck, she already has!--and it's going to be one crazy adventure!   friends, meet miranda. part free-spirit, part rockstar, complete sweetheart, and 100% gorgeous!
