Leaving! | personal

By the time you read this, I'll most likely be squished in a car with two other people and half of our belongings. I'm headed down to Florida for two months, y'all, and it's going to be good. Don't you worry, though, I'll be back in August and ready to hit the loveliness of Iowa I call home for some family & senior sessions, and maybe even a few weddings! ;)

If you want to keep up with my adventures, I'll be blogging here, with the occasional post on this blog as I find time.

Since every post needs a photo, I'll share this one from a 'Friends Forever' session. We went out Friday morning at 6:45 am and ohhh my word, the light. was. butter. However, more laters— for now, peace out Iowa!

Anna Rohrs | Headshots

It's always a challenge being the person behind the camera...because there are never any photos of YOU! (well, I still manage the occasional one in a while;) but you know what I mean.) I've been messaging the sweet Anna for a while now, and we finally were able to meet up a few weeks ago to swap headshots and talk business & photography. It was something that I'd been craving so badly, and I am so thankful that I have Anna as a resource now! You can also check out her photography (and the shots she got of me!) here.

Miranda | Fashion Inspired Shoot

I love looking at fashion magazines and photography, so naturally, I decided to try my hand at it! Miranda has gotten pretty comfortable in front of my camera by now, and so we got her all dolled up and went out to utilize a wonderful overcast evening. This, ladies and gents, is what went down!

Introducing: the 2013 Senior Reps!

Wayyyy back at the beginning of the month, I had the pleasure of getting together with three wonderful young ladies that will be representing me this summer & next school year! They're all going to be 2013 grads, and I'm so excited to get to shoot their individual sessions & have the chance to get to know them more! If you go to either Cedar Falls or West High, find one of these ladies & ask them for a rep card. You'll find a sweet deal on it, just for you! :)

It's safe to say, we had so much fun & giggles & sugar (absolutely necessary for a girls' evening, right?!) and I'm looking forward to August immensely!

Edina & Samira | Friends Forever

Friends, I am so thankful for Edina. You see, almost 2 years ago now, I entered this very large and scary world called "COLLEGE." Never mind you that it was only at a community college 15 minutes away from home, or that I was only taking 12 credit hours that semester (how I wish I could change that now...) but I was nervous. Jittery, like the first day of high school, but worse because I wasn't going in with my entire junior high. This time, I was on my own, and I had no idea what to expect.

My first class was a Marketing class with one of my favorite professors to date, although I didn't know it that monday morning at 7:49 when I walked through the doors into the clean, small lecture room. I did notice over the next hour, however, that this class was mostly full of males. I think that there were about 5 girls in that class, total! So the next morning we had class, I made sure to snag a seat next to a very pretty girl who looked to be close to my age. We girls have to stick together, you know. ;) Well, that girl just happened to be Edina! And even after the class finished, I'd see her occasionally when I would run into my credit union to drop off a check or get some cash. It always makes my day to see a familiar face, I'll tell you! :) Needless to say, I was super excited when Edina facebooked me a few months back & wanted to set up some photos of her & her best friend! We went out early one morning last week and had soooooo much fun, laughing and walking around in the sunshine. Edina, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph you gals!

Sara Michelle | Senior Portraits

I absolutely cannot believe that I am blogging Sara's senior portraits! Just the idea blows my mind....she'll always be 9 years old in my mind, tackling me at church or whining because she didn't get to be her favorite princess during dress-up. Blinking does that, I guess, just like the song says...and I've blinked a few too many times now, and Sara's all grown up. She's like a younger sister to me, and I love this girl like I love my own blood & flesh sister. Her family is moving to Spain in the next few weeks (hence the rush to get these photos up asap!) and I'll be taking & blogging some last family photos of them soon as well.

BUT! World, meet Sara. She's ridiculously smart, spunky, full of laughs and attitude, and the sweetest heart you'll ever meet!

Sara, sissy, I love you so much! My life (and Clarissa's) would probably look so different without you in it...I'm so glad we've been able to "keep" you for so long!

Amelia Renee:)
