a look backwards in time | 2011 review

2011 has been a wonderful year for me!

and i'm saying that because of you all who have supported me, encouraged me, let me photograph you, and learn along with and from you. so, thank you! i am endlessly grateful to my clients and everyone else who has walked through 2011 with me. it has been a year of learning (so much learning!), growing, and piece by piece....discovering more of who i am as a photographer and person.

may you all have a safe & fun end to your year, and i'll see you all on the other side! :)

erin rose | portraits

the lovely erin is a senior, however this is not a senior session, per se. she has already had her gorgeous senior self photographed, but i've been practically begging her to let me grab a few photos myself!
we've grown up together, erin & i. our families have vacationed together, we've been in homeschool co-ops, sunday school and just about anything else you can imagine with each other.
(oh, and if i dare say it, erin's turned out the prettiest! ;) she's gorgeous. and can so pull off a serious face...she'll tell you she can't, but she's lying!)

Christmastime is... | personal

perfect for going out with your girlfriends to get cupcakes & admire the lights and "general splendour."

and for taking self portraits of yourself in shiny ornaments, of course. :)

what is your favorite thing to do at Christmastime?

christmas music | personal

"they call it the season of giving,
i'm here,
i'm yours for the taking."

for my birthday--i just opened my presents last night!--i received the cd. the one i'd wanted & hoped for...michael buble's new Christmas album!

and, i'd have to say, this is probably my favorite non-traditional Christmas song this year! i mean, how can you not just loooooove mr. buble? :) mmmmhm. you know what i'm talking about.

so enjoy, and please! i'd love it if you leave a comment below & tell me what your favorite Christmas song--traditional or not--is!
love always,
amelia renee:)

miranda | mini-session

occasionally, there happens to be a day that just speaks to you.
it calls you outside, drawing you into the gloom.
normally the grey, cloud covered skies impress a heavy, bitterness on your soul.
but today,
in a miraculous way,
that gloom seems more mysterious than melancholy.
