Hannah | Senior Portraits | Cedar Falls, IA Senior Portrait Photographer

I'm running out of time.
This weekend is the conference for midwest Navigator students--held down in Kansas City. 1000+ college students, learning about & praising Jesus...allll weekend! It's my kind of good time. ;) THis is my first year going. It used to be hosted here in Cedar Falls, and my family would host students for dinner on Saturday night, & I couldn't wait to be one of those students! Well, last year it didn't work for me to go, & I was bummed.
BUT THIS YEAR IS NOT LAST YEAR! So, I'm getting on a bus at 1:30 & heading out of town by 2! Oh, and did I mention that I still have to pack? That's where the "running out of time" comes into this story.
So.
Here is my Hannah (& the horse she rides! and Rosie the dog!). Hannah is wonderful. And tall. And smile-y! And an absolute blast. She's like a younger--can't say little!--sister to me, and we spent an entire afternoon taking photos. Be sure to check out that Iowa fall. Mmmmmmm it's good stuff.

sneak peek for the week end

i've been pretty inconsistent about blogging lately. although between classes, projects, tests, blogging, work, editing, Navs, photoshoots, and eating & sleeping...something had to give! ;)

hopefully I'll be posting more fun sessions next week. in the meanwhile, have a wonderful weekend!

jon&ashley | he asked, she said yes! | waterloo, ia engagement photographer

i've been saying for a while now that i've wanted the chance to shoot more couples...& so I was super thrilled to hear that ashley and jon were engaged, and they wanted me to shoot engagement photos! scooooore!
i've known ashley for about 4 years now, but hadn't seen her in quite a while--prior to early last sunday morning. which brings up the point that these two allowed me to talk them into an early morning shoot! do i have fabulous clients, or what?! (oh, and jon had just gotten off working 3rd shift...and looked spiffy, you'd think he'd had a full night's sleep instead of just getting off work!) this was my first time meeting him, and he did wonderfully as a first time model!
ashley & jon, it was so great to get to know the two of you and play out in the early morning light! God bless you both as you prepare for your marriage in april.:)

ian | senior portraits | cedar falls, ia portrait photographer

you know the kids that are always kinda quiet but goofy? you've known them since you were little, they were always there in your life, and then one day you realize they've grown up! ian is one of those kids. we played violin together for years, and now he's grown into a delightful young man! we had fun wandering around the area & finding some amazing light to work with. oh, and i've just got to say...ian ROCKED this session! he could be a model, no joke.;)
